Recreation ProjectOverview This portion of the Cross Alameda Trail runs through the 22-acre Jean Sweeney Open Space Park (Sweeney Park) that is on the North side of Alameda in the West/Central area and is bordered by Constitution Way, Atlantic Avenue and Sherman Street. Project Description This project also includes a 425 foot on-street trail gap closure along Atlantic Avenue between Constitution Way and Webster Street. This connects to the Cross Alameda Trail along Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway from Webster Street to Main Street, which is already funded. The 3,600 foot segment of the Cross Alameda Trail through Sweeney Park is a multi-use bicycle and pedestrian trail for recreational and commuter purposes.
