SPECIAL ALAMEDA WALK!

All walks begin at 9:00 a.m. and last approximately one hour - see below for meeting location.  Look for the red Alameda Walks hats.  While we love the furry pets, we prefer that they wait for you at home.  This is a free event and there is no need to pre-register.  Just put on your walking shoes and join us!

Saturday, May 21, 2016 - Waterways Walk

Meet at the small park on the grass behind Pet Food Express (2661 Blanding Avenue Ste. F, Alameda) next to the Fruitvale Bridge at 9:00 a.m. This walk will circle the Estuary from the Fruitvale Bridge to the Park Street Bridge and back. EBRPD will talk about wildlife, including the endangered peregrine falcons that nest nearby and tides, sea level rise and climate change. This would be a prelude to a collaborative program, Island City Waterways, with Rhythmix Cultural Center on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22 from 10:30am-3:00 pm. (see their website for further details of the Island City Waterways event).
