Alameda Point is ready for development. Backed by unanimously approved entitlements, including a certified, project-wide Environmental Impact Report, the City of Alameda is inviting developers for Alameda Point.
To initiate development, the City has issued Request for Qualifications (RFQs) from qualified developers for two premier waterfront sites at Alameda Point that have significant market potential and will act as catalysts for other areas of Alameda Point.
The first RFQ is for a 68-acre residential and commercial mixed-use project along the main entrance to Alameda Point. This site includes portions of the Seaplane Lagoon waterfront, which will become the public and retail center of Alameda Point.
The second RFQ is for the commercial development of all or portions of an 82-acre site adjacent to the Seaplane Lagoon with exceptional views of the San Francisco skyline. The site is proposed for commercial project(s) with a focus on a major sales tax generator or corporate “build-to-suit” user(s) that creates significant jobs or other major economic benefits.
“We are ready to put a shovel in the ground and turn the community’s vision for Alameda Point into reality,” said Alameda Mayor Marie Gilmore. “With the upturn in the economy, the timing couldn’t be better.”
Alameda Point is an 878-acre section of the decommissioned Naval Air Station ideally located within the heart of the inner San Francisco Bay Area. With an iconic waterfront setting, stunning views, and close proximity to downtown San Francisco, Alameda Point is one of the most significant and widely anticipated real estate opportunities in the Bay Area. The development of Alameda Point is expected to generate thousands of jobs, millions of dollars in tax revenue, and over one thousand housing units.
“These are some of the best, large-scale real estate opportunities available in the market today,” said City Manager John Russo. “This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to be a part of a landmark Bay Area development project.”
