Citizen Change – Marriage Equality Movement documentary
Join us in the City Council Chambers for this documentary screening in honor of the June 26th Supreme Court decisions in favor of Marriage Equality.
Documentary film maker and Alameda resident James Chambers shows how a small group of activists help change the world. Chambers interviews the LGBT activists who devised and help implement the world’s very first step on the road to Marriage Equality, Domestic Partnerships which was passed by Berkeley in 1984. Three decades later, on June 26, 2013 and June 26, 2015 the United States Supreme Court made decisions making Marriage Equality the law of the United States joining more than 20 other countries.
Following the screening there the film maker and some of the activists interviewed will discuss the film and answer questions.
