The Alameda Police Department will unveil the Police Officers Memorial on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. The Ceremony will take place 10:00 a.m. at 1555 Oak Street.
The Memorial honors Alameda Officers Robert James Davey, Jr. and Deward Burton Gresham, who were killed in the line of duty. Information about the officers is available on the Alameda Police Officers Association website here:

Officer Davey’s widow, Sue Davey, and their four children will attend the unveiling.
“This Memorial has been made possible primarily through private donations and a lot of volunteer work,” said Interim Police Chief Paul Rolleri. “We’ve worked hard to create a memorial that honors our fallen colleagues and their families in a respectful, beautiful way.”
The Memorial includes sculptured busts of the officers, a new flagpole, garden, and a seating area. “It is a new public open space that is a wonderful addition to the City buildings on Oak Street,” Rolleri said
