Basic Computing Workshops

The Alameda Free Library is pleased to present our Basic Computing Series workshop in the computer lab. This event will be held at the Main Library, 1550 Oak St., from 6-7:30 p.m. on August 15, 2018, and on the Wednesday evenings following. All ages are welcome to this series.

The first of this series, Basic Computing I, to be held on August 15 from 6-7:30 p.m., will cover the basics of using a computer as well as an explanation of all the different working parts. No computer experience is necessary to attend this workshop. We will be focusing on the Windows 7 Operating System, but all operating systems welcome.

The second of this series, Basic Computing II, to be held on August 22 from 6-7:30 p.m. will take this basic knowledge a little further and focus on the operating system and its concepts. We’ll touch upon using programs within Microsoft Office.

The third of this series, Syncing 101, to be held on August 29 from 6-7:30 p.m. will focus on the hardware aspect of computer literacy and getting your computer to talk and read the different devices available commonly today. Load your photos, music, and media into the computer. Bring any devices you might be having trouble with to troubleshoot!

Please join us. Registration is requested as space in the lab is limited. You may register for this event by stopping by the Circulation Desk and signing up.
