APD K9 and SLPD K9 units, along with Western States Police Canine Association, will be co-hosting their second annual K9 competition. It will be held at the San Leandro Ball Park at 2451 Teagarden Street- San Leandro on Saturday, August 9th from 10:00am to 6:30pm.
Food will be available at the venue and SWAT/Police vehicles will also be on display for public viewing. Each agency asks that pets be left at home as they could distract the competing K9 teams.
A portion of funds generated from these competitions are donated back to the community. This year, both agencies will be making donations to the Friends of Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) and the Sean M. Walsh K-9 Memorial Foundation.
