Crossing Improvement Project
The City of Oakland has contracted with McGuire and Hester, to perform construction on 23rd Ave and 29th Ave. This pedestrian safety project will reconstruct infrastructure, sidewalk and roadway to improve the area. These improvements will be closing off and detouring pedestrian and vehicular traffic around the construction areas. Work is scheduled to begin April 18TH, 2016 and will be completed by the fall 2016. Please bear with us during this transition and know that we will be completing the project as soon as possible.
This project has been funded as part of the Caltrans Highway 880/ 5th Avenue Seismic Retrofit Project. City of Oakland staff will be monitoring this construction project to ensure that it meets project plans and specifications. The contractor’s normal working hours are 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday Through Friday.
