Please join Mayor Trish Herrera Spencer and the City of Alameda’s Social Service Human Relations Board for the 2018 Community Service Awards Reception, an evening honoring the extraordinary contributions of individuals, businesses, and nonprofits.
WHAT: 2018 Community Service Awards Reception
WHEN: Thursday, November 8, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Elks Lodge, 2255 Santa Clara Avenue, Alameda
This event is open to the public and is free of charge. Light dinner will be served. Please reserve your seat by Friday, October 26: https://2018serviceawards.eventbrite.com.
Applications are now open to nominate deserving persons and organizations for the following awards:
· Jim Franz Lifetime Community Service Achievement Award
· Community Service Volunteer of the Year Award
· Community Service Award – Individual
· Community Service Award – Nonprofit Organization
· Community Service Award – Nonprofit Board Member
· Community Service Award – Youth (2 awards will be given)
· Community Service Award – Business or Business Person (2 awards will be given)
The nomination form may be downloaded at https://alamedaca.gov/serviceawards or e-mail abagtas@alamedaca.gov to request a form. Nominations must be submitted by Monday, September 17 to abagtas@alamedaca.gov or mail to Ana Bagtas, City of Alameda Community Development Department, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, Room 120, Alameda, CA 94501.
The Community Service Awards is now in its fifth year honoring outstanding Alamedans, businesses, and nonprofit organizations for making our island city the best place to grow, learn, live, play, and prosper. In addition to the awards reception on November 8, awardees will be recognized at the October 16 meeting of the Alameda City Council during the presentation of the Extra Mile Day Proclamation. Awardees will be notified by October 8.
