The City’s annual sidewalk repair program is scheduled to begin in early October and completed in six months. The project will remove and replace sidewalks that have been damaged by street trees at various locations throughout the City. During construction, motorists will experience minor disruptions in traffic, temporary loss of parking spaces, as well as an increase in noise and dust levels. Bus stop access will be maintained throughout the project. Construction hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Prior to construction on your block, property owners will be advised by door hangers 72 hours in advance. “No Parking” signs will be posted 72 hours in advance where parking spaces will be impacted by the work. Pedestrians may be directed to temporarily use the adjacent sidewalk.
The work is funded by the Alameda County ½ cent sales tax Measure B. No General Fund monies will be used.
The City appreciates your cooperation and patience during this construction. Questions or information about the project, including this year fiscal year’s locations and tentative work schedule, should be directed to Shilpa Patel at (510) 747-7945.
