The East Bay Regional Parks District (EBRPD) cannot finish their Crown Beach Shore restoration project within the time they announced publicly. EBRPD has now made an emergency request to the City for expanded construction hours until 9:00 P.M. during the week and to work on weekends from 7:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M. According to EBRPD, these hours will permit them to complete the project by November 30th. While the City appreciates the work being performed at the beach, it is important to have the community, especially people who live near the beach, weigh in about the Noise, Light, and Safety impacts of the extended construction hours. Hence, a public meeting will be held on Monday, November 4th at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall Council Chambers – 2263 Santa Clara Avenue. At the meeting, EBRPD will present their needs and proposed mitigation for Noise, Light, and Safety. The City will gauge the community’s tolerance for the extended hours, especially those who live near the beach, and then make the appropriate conditions of approval to EBRPD. If anyone wants to make their opinions known, yet cannot make the meeting, please email to manager@alamedaca.gov
