TEDxAlameda is pleased to provide a free live simulcast of the TEDWomen conference taking place in San Francisco on Thursday, December 5, 2013. The simulcast will be held at the Alameda Free Library, 1550 Oak St. Alameda.
TEDWomen2013 will channel the bootstrap spirit of Silicon Valley to celebrate invention in all its forms. Not just technology and things, but also solutions to poverty; approaches to peacemaking; expressions of art, and, at times, our own lives. Some of the featured speakers include Journalist and Swimmer Diana Nyad, Poet Sarah Kay and Designer Roshi Givechi.
There will be three full sessions, Session I from 11:00-12:30, Session II from 2:00-3:30 and Session III from 4:00-5:30. All sessions are open and free to the public.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, independent and self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
