Public Works staff invites you to participate in the Central Avenue Complete Street Concept Proposal, which pertains to the area between Pacific Avenue and Sherman Street/Encinal Avenue (Exhibit 1). Potential improvements along this 1.7 mile stretch may include traffic calming, installing a bikeway, and enhancing pedestrian access. There are many ways to participate, which include:
- Attend Community Workshops: The first community workshop is on Tuesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Encinal High School’s Cafeteria (210 Central Avenue). Additional Community Workshops dates are: Thursday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m.
- Use On-Line Open Forum: Participate in an online forum for civic engagement at the following web page: http://alamedaca.gov/public-works/open-forum Read what others are saying about the Central Avenue Concept Proposal, then post your own ideas or comments. Staff will incorporate them into the decision process.
- Attend the Transportation Commission Meeting: Attend the Transportation Commission (TC) meeting on Wednesday, May 27 in the City Council Chambers (2263 Santa Clara Avenue) at 7:00 p.m. where this item will be introduced. To add your email to the TC email list, please email gpayne@alamedaca.gov .
