Transportation Commission to Consider Harbor Bay Ferry Parking Recommendations on April 22, 2015

Based on additional comments received, the City of Alameda Public Works Department has updated the final recommendations to alleviate parking concerns related to the Harbor Bay Ferry.  In short, the recommendations are:

  1. Add 46 unrestricted parking spaces on the bayside of Harbor Bay Parkway.
  1. Remove the left turn lane for northbound Harbor Bay Parkway at Adelphian Way, so motorists can make a proper U-turn.
  1. Educate the public on the changes and the existing parking restrictions on Adelphian Way.
  1. Enforce the parking restrictions on Adelphian Way after the education period has passed.
  1. Continue to review spillover parking and provide additional improvements if needed.

Any City approved changes are subject to the approval of Harbor Bay Isle Associates (HBIA) and The San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC).  The updated report will be published on April 15, 2015 at: https://alameda.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx

The Transportation Commission will review these recommendations at the their meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 7:00 pm, at City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, Third Floor, City Council Chambers.  The meeting is open to the public.
