ALAMEDA MAYOR SPENCER, VET GROUPS, CONGRATULATE LOCAL NAVY
RESERVE ON 100 YEARS
ALAMEDA - Mayor Trish Spencer will be on hand to offer congratulations to the Navy's Reserve for 100 years of dedicated service to the United States at a celebration on the transport ship PORT ORLANDO on Saturday, July 11 from 2
p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
This celebration is free and open to the public. Mayor Spencer will be joined by several military support organizations including the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, VFW, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, American Merchant Marines, and others.
The event will take place aboard the ship PORT ORLANDO, 1500 Ferry Point Road, Alameda, 94501 (near the USS Hornet museum) and will begin with presentations and awards to 'Citizen-Sailors' and some of their employers, as well as congratulations from Mayor Spencer, Rear Admiral Linnea Sommer-Weddington, and other dignitaries.
