Tickets go on sale August 3 for the seventh season of Live@the Library, a concert series that brings some of the Bay Area’s top names in jazz and American music to Alameda. This year two of the concerts will be at the Alameda Main Library and the third will be at Rhythmix Cultural Works. Proceeds from the series benefit the Alameda Free Library Foundation, which raises money for the long-term support of Alameda’s libraries.
This year’s lineup is:
- Saturday, Sept. 26 – Miss Faye Carol Quintet, performing Jazz Ain’t Nothin’ But Soul (www.fayecarol.com)
- Saturday, Oct. 24 – Ed Reed Quintet featuring Anton Schwartz, performing Remembering John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman (www.edreedsings.com, www.antonjazz.com)
- Saturday, Nov. 21 – Maria Muldaur Quartet, performing Way Past Midnight (www.mariamuldaur.com)
The series often sells out early with many people choosing a three-concert series ticket for the discounted price of $90. Purchased individually, each concert ticket is $35.
Doors open at 7 p.m., when refreshments are available and concert-goers mingle. The concerts start at 8 p.m. Location of the September and October concerts is the Regina K. Stafford Rooms at the Alameda Main Library, 1550 Oak Street. Access to the event is through the library’s rear entrance near the parking lot.
