Alameda Free Library to Host Harry Potter Party and Book Swap
Can’t wait for the new Harry Potter script, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, to be released? Are you looking for new books to read? Join us as we celebrate the script the day before it’s released and swap books with other teen readers.
Our Harry Potter Party and Book Swap is Saturday, July 30 and the event is for teens only. The party will be from 3 PM to 4 PM in the Regina K. Stafford Room at the Main Library on 1550 Oak Street. We’ll play Bertie Bott’s Bean Boozled, a game of chance where you’ll either get a delicious jelly bean or a foul tasting one. Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans encompasses every flavor imaginable—so beware! After the games, we’ll hold a book swap. Bring Teen/Young Adult books to swap with other readers. Witches, wizards, and muggles, ages 13 to 18, are all welcome.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be released on Sunday, July 31st. The script is based on a story by J.K. Rowling and will feature Harry and his friends as adults. The story will be presented on stage in London’s West End and released as a script worldwide.
Please call Hallie Fields at 510-747-7713 or email hfields@alamedaca.gov for more information about this event.
