Alameda’s 3rd Community Service Awards
The City of Alameda Social Services Human Relations Board (SSHRB) is pleased to announce the 3rd annual City of Alameda Community Service Awards.
Award winners will be recognized at a reception at the Alameda Elks Lodge on Thursday evening, October 27.
Nominations for the Community Service Awards may come from anyone in the community.
The Categories include:
Community Service Lifetime Achievement Award:
To recognize extraordinary, long-time commitment and service to the community of Alameda over a period of 25 or more years. Please include all areas of community involvement and service.
Community Service Volunteer of the Year Award:
To recognize extraordinary service to the community of Alameda over a period of 10 or more years. Please include all areas of community involvement and service.
Community Service Award – Individual:
To recognize an individual who has performed extraordinary community service. The act can involve any event or program that made a difference for the Alameda community.
Community Service Award – Non-Profit Organization:
To recognize an outstanding non-profit organization that has provided extraordinary service to our community over a period of 3 years or more, and has made Alameda a better place in which to live.
Community Service Award – Non-Profit Board Member:
To recognize the service of a Board Member of a non-profit serving the community of Alameda. The Board Member must have served on the Board for at least 2 years.
Community Service Award – Youth:
To honor the outstanding commitment and contributions made by youth to their community. Two Awards are presented in this category.
Community Service Award – Business/Business Person:
To honor the outstanding contributions to the community in support of critical social services (youth, food security, health and wellbeing, employment training, etc.) by a business or business person in Alameda. Two Awards are presented in this category.

A Special Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the family of Niel Tam 1945-2015, in recognition of his lifetime of dedication and service to the City and citizens of Alameda.
