Alameda Free Library to Host Board Game Program

Join the Alameda Free Library for a board game day for adults. The Grown Up Gaming program will feature Gloom, a game where the goal is to make your eccentric family of misfits suffer more terrible fates than your competitors. You’ll work against your opponents to make their families happy while making your own group suffer. You can help your characters befall great tragedies such as being “pursued by poodles” and “distressed by dysentery” and gain points for their unhappiness to ultimately become the most gloomy. We hope you will join us for this game of inauspicious incidents and grave consequences.

The Grown Up Gaming program will be on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:30pm. It will be held in the Regina Stafford Community Room at the Main Library. The Grown Up Gaming program is for adults, ages 18+ only.

The library will provide a selection of board games, and participants may also bring their own games to play. Friendly competition is encouraged and players of all skill levels are invited to participate.

Please call the Main Library Reference Desk at 510-747-7713 with any questions. The Alameda Free Library is located at 1550 Oak Street, Alameda, CA 94501.
