Alameda is the first East Bay city with a public dock-less bike share system, using LimeBike. At least 300 LimeBikes will be available throughout the island during the six-month pilot period, and will be regularly re-distributed to the spots where people want to ride to and from.
Bikes are simple to find, unlock, and ride off on using the iPhone or Andriod smartphone app and cost $1 for every 30 minutes. Adults are encouraged to bring their own helmet, and everyone under 18 is required by law to wear a helmet.
Problems with the bikes? Report any issue directly to LimeBike’s 24/7 customer service number: 1-888-LIME-345, or text: 1-888-546-3345, or email: support@limebike.com. Or, for an even quicker method, use the in-app reporting function (see "!" icon in bottom right corner of main screen), to easily report illegal parking, any issue with the bike or lock, or other issues with just a few clicks.
Feedback for the City? During this six month pilot (October 2017 to April 2018), we're interested in hearing your thoughts about how the program is working, improvements we could make, etc. Please email: BikeSharePilot@alamedaCA.gov.
