Attempted Sexual Assault Investigation

The East Bay Regional Park District Police Department is working in conjunction with the Alameda Police Department on the investigation into a series of attempted sexual assaults that have occurred in the western Alameda area. On 9/1/18, a woman reported an attempted sexual assault that occurred at Robert W. Crown State Beach. A similar incident was reported in the same area on 9/4/18. The Alameda Police Department had an attempted sexual assault reported to them on 8/6/18 in the vicinity of the park. Each of these incidents had a similar suspect description. The suspect was described as an African American male adult, approximately 20-25 years old, with short curly hair, approximately 5’5”-5’6, and a thin build.
As always, people in the area should be aware of their surrounding and report any suspicious activity to their local police jurisdiction.
