The City of Alameda is co-sponsoring its fourth annual Retail Job Fair for permanent and temporary holiday-season positions available at the Alameda Landing and South Shore Shopping Centers, and other nearby locations. The Job Fair will be held Thursday, October 11, 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the South Shore Shopping Center, across from Trabocco and Charming Charlie.
The Retail Job Fair will have hiring representatives from Macy’s, Bed Bath and Beyond, Walgreens, Starbucks, and many more regional and local employers. Currently, 19 businesses have registered with over 250 open positions. The businesses will be recruiting for various positions, including sales associates, baristas, security officers, cooks, and warehouse associates. Job seekers should come prepared with resumes and dressed in interview-appropriate attire.
“This is an opportunity for local jobs to be filled by residents, including students at the College of Alameda,” said Debbie Potter, the City’s Base Reuse and Economic Development Director. “Retail trade and food services are two of the largest employment sectors in Alameda. The positions available at the job fair cover a wide variety of skill levels.”

The event is co-sponsored by the City of Alameda, the College of Alameda’s One Stop Career Center, Alameda Landing, the South Shore Shopping Center, Alameda County Workforce Development Board, and the Alameda Chamber of Commerce.
