The City of Alameda is looking for eligible Homeowners to participate in its Housing Rehabilitation Program. Participants can repair and improve their home while preserving, restoring, and maintaining Alameda’s architectural and neighborhood charm.
Those eligible to apply for the Housing Rehabilitation Program are households with an income of up to:
- $45,100 for a single person household; and
- $64,400 for a household of four.
The Housing Rehabilitation Program provides:
- Low-interest loans for owner-occupied residences. Owners can replace a leaky roof, fix plumbing and electrical problems, bring their property up to current code, eliminate health, safety and earthquake hazards, and even increase energy savings. Help with design and permitting, contractor bidding and selection and construction management is also provided at no cost to the owner by the City’s Housing Development and Programs Division.
- Zero interest loans and payment deferrals may be offered to senior owner-occupants. Repayment plans are tailored to each owner’s income and ability to repay.
- Small grants are also available for emergency repairs and for accessibility modifications.
