Caltrans Drainage Project on State Route 61 in Alameda Starting the Week of October 13th

ALAMEDA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is performing drainage repair work on northbound Otis Drive (State Route 61) between Mound Street and Versailles Avenue in Alameda.

The work will consist of installing a new drainage system and replacing the curb and gutter on the northbound side of Otis Drive.  To ensure public and worker safety, temporary lane closures will be required to complete the work.  During Phase 1 of the project the northbound inside lane will be closed and traffic will be reduced to one lane in the northbound direction with no parking allowed along the curb.

During Phase 2, the northbound lanes will be reduced to one lane and shifted to the southbound side (two way traffic) with no parking allowed along either side of Otis Drive.  The construction days and hours for both phases are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Please see below for an alternative route, as motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time.  For current information on all Caltrans projects, please follow us at: https://twitter.com/CaltransD4
