Library to Host Data Visualization Workshop

Are you: Interested in video game statistics? Keeping up with a hometown sports team’s performance? Watching your monthly spending? Interested in data and data visualization? Start out the New Year by learning “big data” software to further your personal and professional development goals. Come to the library to learn about data visualization and software that will help you create and understand graphs using data.

The session will be a hands-on introduction to data visualization, but prior experience with tools like Excel or knowledge about tables and data will be useful. The session will focus on Tableau and Power BI. It will include how to find free versions of the software, set up, and share your visualizations. Feel free to bring your own data sources.

This free session is on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Alameda Free Library at 1550 Oak Street, in the Stafford Room from 10 AM to 1 PM. The session is for adults, ages 18 and up only. Participants should bring their own brunch and a laptop to download and use the software.
