Bid for the installation of new copper Type L piping, and replacing angle stops and tubing to faucets with all copper compression fitted at Alameda Fire Station No. 2.

 

January 29, 2013 The City of Alameda is soliciting bids for the installation of new copper Type L piping, and replacing angle stops and tubing to faucets with all copper compression fitted at Alameda Fire Station No. 2. located at 635 Pacific Avenue, Alameda.

 

The work shall include, but not be limited to, removal and replacement of all galvanized piping including fitting, hangers and angle stops, predominately indoor but includes two exterior hose bibs, replacing inline gate valves, hose bibs with brass and removing dissimilar non-compatible metal fitting, hangers and fittings. Proper disposal of spoils and re-establish site to conditions prior to work. Implement BMP’s during the entire period of the project. Any demolition of walls to access plumbing shall be repaired and finished to like kind. Measures to keep fire station operating with minimal operations will be applicable; this requires prior approval from the Fire Department Duty Chief and notification to the Public Works Supervisor.

The work is tentatively scheduled to begin in late February 2014.  There will be no Pre-Bid meeting.
