DIVISION CHIEF AL RICHTERMAN
Division Chief Allyn Richterman joined the Alameda Fire Department as a firefighter in September 1987. He was promoted to Apparatus Operator in September 1997 and Captain in June 2000. In November 2015, he was promoted to Division Chief in charge of hazardous materials, wellness fitness, tactical medic, fire Investigation, and CISM. He is also working on the design and construction of the new Fire Station 3 and the Alameda Firefighters Memorial.
Chief Richterman has been an active member in the Fire Department over the years and has filled various assignments, including: Station Captain, Peer Fitness Trainer, Fireboat Trainer, and Fire Investigator. He has also been on the Water Rescue team and Wildland Team.
Division Chief Richterman grew up in South San Francisco and is a graduate of South San Francisco High School. He currently resides in Santa Cruz with his wife Jean, son Neil, and daughter Sara. He likes spending his time off with his family and friends, mountain biking, surfing and restoring classic cars.
