FIRE CHIEF EDMOND RODRIGUEZ
Chief Rodriguez joined the Alameda Fire Department as Fire Chief in November of 2017. Prior to serving in Alameda, Chief Rodriguez had 24 years of service with the Stockton, CA Fire Department, promoting to the rank of Deputy Chief of Operations. Most recently, Chief Rodriguez spent 5 years serving as Fire Chief for the City of Salinas, CA and was responsible for all aspects of that Department.
Chief Rodriguez’s education includes degrees in Executive Fire Service Leadership, Fire Science and Nursing. He is also a licensed California Paramedic with 33 years of experience in the field. He is also a graduate of the Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program and one of only a few Certified California Fire Chiefs. In addition, the Chief holds numerous advanced certifications as a chief fire officer and is extensively involved at the state level with the California Fire Chief’s Association.
