Portable Freestanding Signs

(Ordinance No. 3082, November 2013)

 

The ordinace amends what is allowed for Portable Freestanding Signs, or A-Frame signs. A-Frame signs are allowed as follows:

  • Only one sign per tenant
  • The sign must be removed daily and whenever the business is closed
  • The sign can't be attached to any pubilc property, such as trees, parking meters, or street lights
  • The sign can be at most four feet tall or three feet wide, with total sign area not exceeding eight square feet per side

Freestanding signs are permitted adjacent to the front of the business (Pink Zone) provided that a clear path of at least five feet is preserved for pedestrians (Blue Zone). No signs are allowed adjacent to the curb (Yellow Zone).
