UPDATE CCTV SYSTEM AT ALAMEDA CIVIC CENTER PARKING STRUCTURE (1416 Oak Street, Alameda, CA), No. P.W. 05-15-09

The City of Alameda is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the removal of an existing, and installation of a new, CCTV System at the Civic Center Parking Structure, located at 1416 Oak Street, Alameda, CA 94501.

 

The work includes, but is not limited to, the installation of a new CCTV system with 29-35 new cameras, two 4-channel video encoders, two servers with 30-40 days of storage per server, redundant power supplies and unlimited connection licenses along with one 24” monitor and POE switches. The new installation will utilize existing CAT5 cables and adopt up to six existing analog cameras, Contractor shall secure new cameras while providing vandal proof anchors, manufacturer recommended power supply, and optimizing locations for maximum security operations.  Remote access to CCTV via application and continued online support for the new cameras and hardware.  The removal and replacement of existing non-conforming cameras and equipment including encoders, servers at the civic center parking structure while using existing approved wiring.  Contractor shall train City staff on the proper operation of the new CCTV system and coordinate with the City’s current monitoring contractor, the City of Alameda Police Department staff; providing CCTV plans and specifications for permit (three sets, if required) with the Building and Planning Department; upgrading/optimizing camera locations and restoring site to like kind prior to the commencement of the upgrade.  Contractor shall implement best management practices (BMPs) during the entire term of the project.  In addition, the contractor will secure the worksite at all times and accommodate City staff and the general public accordingly during this upgrade project.

 

Engineer’s estimate is $65,000.

DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS (DIR) COMPLIANCE AND PREVAILING WAGE REQUIREMENTS ON PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS:

  • No Contractor or Subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the DIR.
  • No Contractor or Subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project unless registered with the DIR.
  • This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR.
  • The Prime Contractor is required to post job site notices prescribed by regulation See 8 Calif. Code Regulation §16451(d).
  • Effective April 1, 2015, All Contractors and Subcontractors must furnish electronic certified payroll records directly to the Labor Commissioner.

Please note that the Alameda City Council encourages all contractors/consultants and other businesses providing services to the City to hire Alameda residents, pursuant to City Resolution No. 12278.
