New Service for Alameda Residents to Report

Issues and Request City Services

The City of Alameda launched a new program that will make it easier for Alamedans to report quality-of-life issues and request City services.  Powered by SeeClickFix, this place-based reporting platform has an online and mobile interface in which residents can document neighborhood concerns ranging from litter, illegal dumping, graffiti, damaged sidewalks, potholes, malfunctioning traffic signals, among others.

Liz Warmerdam, Interim City Manager, praised the new partnership: “We are proud to now offer SeeClickFix, which gives Alamedans more options and ways to report their questions and concerns to the City.  It provides greater accessibility for residents to send us their comments and photos online and through their mobile phones."

With the online and mobile reporting platform, residents can report quality-of-life concerns through service request categories via the City of Alameda website, mobile applications (iPhone, Android), and SeeClickFix.com.  When submitting issues via the mobile application, for example, residents can provide location, description, and even photographs.  Upon submission, both the reporter and the City of Alameda, plus anyone else who requested area alerts will receive an alert.  The City of Alameda can then acknowledge the service request, route it to the proper department, and update the request until it is resolved.

This partnership allows residents to report community issues, as well as view, comment on, and vote to fix problems submitted by their neighbors.  Residents can even create their own “watch areas” to receive notifications about all issues reported in their communities.  This lets residents proactively follow the progress of all service requests in their area, not just the ones they report.

Residents can submit their quality-of-life issues or requests for City services from the City of Alameda’s website directly at http://alamedaca.gov/submit-request, where there is also a link to download the mobile application.  Residents can still report through a phone call to (510) 747-7900.
