Newly Launched Alameda Transportation Management Association to Improve Transportation in Alameda
Property owners in Northern Waterfront and Alameda Point, as well as the City of Alameda, recently launched a new organization – the Alameda Transportation Management Association (Alameda TMA) – charged with creating more transportation choices in Alameda. Not only does the Alameda TMA provide and pay for transportation services in the Northern Waterfront and Alameda Point, the Alameda TMA benefits all Alamedans with services including paying for increased frequencies to AC Transit’s Line 19, which runs along the Northern Waterfront area as well as to Webster Street and Oakland.
The newly formed Alameda TMA provides a one-stop resource for Alameda employees and residents to find transportation options. The Association has a seamless, easy-to- use network of programs that relate to each other, while at the same time recognizes that different neighborhoods have unique characteristics. To ensure that the unique needs of different geographic areas are served, project area committees for Alameda Point and the Northern Waterfront have been established. Furthermore, in the future other interested parties or geographic areas within the City will be able to join the Alameda TMA and help create even more cost efficiencies and streamlined transportation services citywide.
Stay tuned later this summer for a new website with online information regarding transportation choices!
