Public Art Requirement

The Public Art Ordinance requires that major development projects include on-site public art, or pay a fee in-lieu of providing the art on-site. Any in-lieu fees collected are deposited in the dedicated Public Art Fund.

Previous Meetings

  • City Council, October 17, 2017. At this meeting, the Council approved the proposed changes to the Public Art Ordinance.
  • Planning Board, March 13, 2017. At this meeting the Planning Board reviewed the proposed changes to the Public Art Ordinance, and recommended they be approved by the City Council.
  • Public Art Commission, February 15, 2017. At this special meeting, the PAC reviewed the proposed changes to the Public Art Ordinance, and recommended they be approved by Council. The PAC also recommended the draft RFP be approved Council, with modifications to the evaluation criteria.
  • Public Art Commission (canceled), January 18, 2017. This special meeting of the PAC was canceled due to lack of a quorum. A community meeting was held in lieu of the PAC meeting.
