Sandbags

Alameda's Sandbag Station

To help Alamedans prepare for storm season, Public Works opens its sandbag station at Alameda Point on December 1 and until the stormseason ends. Public Works provides up to five (5) free sandbags for Alamedans who can show proof of residency, such as an Alameda Municipal Power bill or current driver’s license with an Alameda address. To learn more about how to retrieve sandbags, please call 510-747-7900. Some sandbags are already filled, although residents should be prepared to fill their own.  Please note that the sandbag station is closed during storms, as staff are occupied with storm-related service requests from the public, Alameda Police, and others. If you have any questions or comments, please call Public Works at 510-747-7900 between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  By working together, Alameda residents and Public Works can help lessen the impacts of storms this season.
