Managing the Bay Bridge Closure

The San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge is scheduled to close from 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28 to 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

AC Transit, the San Francisco Bay Ferry, and BART will be running, so commuters have many options. AC Transit’s Transbay lines running between the City of Alameda and San Francisco (Lines O, OX and W) will run instead to West Oakland BART, and will charge only $2.90 one-way fare.  More info at: http://www.actransit.org/2013/08/19/bay-bridge-closure-august-28-to-september-3/

BART will run trains on a 24 hour basis serving 14 stations. During regular service hours, BART will increase its passenger capacity by running longer trains all day and will adjust train service to match needs for weekend events, including A’s home games, Cal Bears football and America’s Cup finals.  More info at: http://bart.gov/news/articles/2013/news20130815.aspx

For ferry service information, go to: http://watertransit.org/ Alameda Police will relax parking enforcement near both ferry terminals, EXCEPT for flagrant violations such as the blocking of driveways, sidewalks, handicap parking, or fire hydrants.
