Take a 1200 Mile Journey In The Steps of a Wolf, Without Leaving Town!
The Alameda Free Library is very excited to be one of the first screening sites for the new Wolf OR-7 Expedition documentary film. The screening will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 2-4 pm at the Main Library. There will be time for Q&A with expedition member Jay Simpson after the screening.
The Wolf OR-7 Expedition team retraced, by bicycle and on foot, the approximate 1200 mile route taken by the GPS collared wolf called OR-7 (aka: Journey). OR-7 was born in NE Oregon and in 2011 left his pack and dispersed south to find new territory. He became the first known wolf in California in 90 years, and he is still out there.
Follow six adventurers as they retrace the route taken by OR-7 (aka: Journey) to explore human and wolf coexistence and meet the people along the route who now find themselves in wolf country.
This is a free event and is open to all ages. Families are especially welcome. Registration is requested by contacting the Reference Desk at 510-747-7713. The Main Library is located at 1550 Oak St., Alameda.
