Free Bike Repair at the Alameda Library

Is your bike is making a mystery sound or collecting dust because it has a flat tire? Bring it to the Alameda Free Library where the “BikeMobile” can fix flat tires, adjust brakes and gears, and even replace broken or worn out parts like chains, seats, and tires. (The BikeMobile cannot replace missing gears or wheels.)

What: Free Bike Repair!

When: Wednesday, August 30, from 2:30-6:30 PM, Fix-A-Flat workshop at 4:00 PM

Where: Alameda Free Library, 1550 Oak Street, Alameda

While mechanics work on your bike, they’ll explain how it works and how to keep it running smooth. In addition to getting a tune up, you can add some style to your ride by adding colored tape to the frame at the decoration station.

The BikeMobile will serve guests on a first come first serve basis as you arrive to the event. Bike or no bike, everyone is welcome to attend to learn about maintenance, safety, and more!

This service is offered through the Alameda County Transportation Commission’s Safe Routes To Schools program, funded by Measure B and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s Climate Initiatives program, and staffed by Cycles of Change.

Please contact the Reference Desk at (510) 747-7713 if you have any questions.
