FULL NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND FREEWAY CLOSURES PLANNED FOR INTERSTATE 880 AT 23rd and 29TH AVENUE
Oakland/Alameda, Alameda County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has scheduled various full and intermittent freeway closures along northbound Interstate 880 between High St. to 23rd Avenue and southbound Interstate 880 between Embarcadero to 29th Avenue on Wednesday July 27, through Monday August 8, to erect the large beam for the 29th Avenue Overcrossing.
FULL FREEWAY CLOSURES ARE SCHEDULED FROM FRIDAY, JULY 29 TO WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3
Northbound I-880 Closure times:
• Weekdays – 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM
• Weekends – 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM
Southbound I-880 Closure times:
• Weekdays –midnight to 5:00 AM
• Weekends – 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM
INTERMITTENT LANE CLOSURES ARE SCHEDULED FROM WEDNESDAY, JULY 27 TO MONDAY, AUGUST 8
• Weekdays – 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM
• Weekends – 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Advance warning changeable message signs, detour signs and construction crew flaggers will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute.
Please drive with caution through the construction zone, leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you, and Slow for the Cone Zone.
California Highway Patrol will be on site during night closures.
