Libraries Outside at the Marin Headlands
Are you ready to get back outside after this long, rainy winter? Mark your calendars now to join Libraries Outside in the Marin Headlands on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 12 Noon.
We will meet at the bus stop at the Rodeo Beach parking lot and walk around the lagoon, then up and over the hill to the Point Bonita Lighthouse. This walk is less than five miles (out and back) and is mostly flat for the first half. There are many picnic sites, so feel free to bring your lunch.
The descent to the lighthouse is fairly steep, so shoes with good traction are advised. The lighthouse itself is open from 12:30-3:30 and there will be docents on site to share historical information. Additional information about the area can be found at www.nps.gov/goga/pobo.htm and by searching the Alameda Free Library online catalog. Two relevant titles are Marin Headlands: Portals of Time by Ann Gilliam and Headlands: the Marin Coast at the Golden Gate by Miles DeCoster.

All ages are welcome at this free event.
