West End Library to Host Music Program for Children

On Thursday, October 4, 2018, the West End Library will host the Dilly Dallies, a local music duo. The event will take place at 4:00 pm.

The Dilly Dallies will perform music that they have created themselves and that has been described as whimsical, fun, catchy, and relatable. It will appeal to kids and their parents. Their songs feature a wide variety of instruments including a glockenspiel, baritone ukulele, and various percussion instruments, as well as vocal harmonies. Instruments will be available for the kids to play along.

The Dilly Dallies is composed of Steve Slater and Jenn Ekman. Steve is a professional drummer, performing with four San Francisco Bay Area bands. He is also a music instructor, teaching privately and at a Montessori school, as well as a high school marching drum line. Jenn is a singer and stage actor. She has performed in community and regional musical theatre as well as with a women’s jazz a capella group and in solo cabaret shows in the Bay Area. Both Steve and Jenn are stay at home parents.

The West End Library is located at 788 Santa Clara Avenue in Alameda and the telephone number is 510-747-7767.
