Sector Four

Sector 4- Bay Farm Island

Sector 4 is led by Lieutenant Hoshmand Durani.

Sector 4 consists of the entire Bay Farm Island area.  Originally an island in the San Francisco Bay, Bay Farm Island is now a peninsula due to landfill.  Bay Farm Island is connected to Oakland and borders the Oakland International Airport.  It is largely residential and home to the Chuck Corica Golf Complex, the National Football League’s Oakland Raiders Headquarters, Harbor Bay Club,  Alameda Fire Station 4, and many more businesses.  There are also three schools and two day care facilities.  Bay Farm Island has several lagoons, as well as several community parks, including Shoreline Park which offers beautiful views of the San Francisco skyline and surrounding bay. A green belt also encompasses the entire perimeter of the peninsula.

Bay Farm Island is connected to the main island of Alameda by the Bay Farm Island Bridge, which is the longest draw bridge in the county spanning 1000 feet in length.  The Bay Farm Island bicycle and pedestrian bridge runs parallel to the traffic bridge.  The draw bridges are operational 365 days a year from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

If your neighborhood is interested in organizing a neighborhood watch, you can contact the COPPS Unit at (510) 337-8305.  They can assist you with training a block captain (or captains), give you helpful tips on crime prevention through a CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) evaluation, provide you crime information/stats for your community, and get you on the schedule for National Night Out in August 2018.  A number of valuable resources can also be found on the Community Services/Assistance webpage.
