The Walking Patrol is a two officer team working Wednesday through Saturday from 4:15 PM to 2:15 AM as staffing permits.
Chief Rolleri is bringing back this assignment which historically was very successful in creating and maintaining relationships with the business community. The officers are a public relations liaison between the Department and businesses. They are focused on providing professional and proactive service in the business districts. They will address issues related to alcohol, disturbances, smoking and other incidents in the areas of Park Street, Webster Street and South Shore Center that negatively impact the quality of life for the surrounding areas.
