ANNOUNCEMENT
RUNWAY 12-30 REHABILITATION PROJECT AT OAKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
SEPTEMBER 11 - SEPTEMBER 25, 2017
ALTERNATE ACTIVITIES FOR AIRPORT NEIGHBORS DURING CONSTRUCTION
As many of you are aware, the Port of Oakland (Port) will be rehabilitating Runway 12-30 at Oakland International Airport (OAK) for two weeks from Monday, September 11, 2017, through early morning on Monday, September 25, 2017. Port staff has participated in a series of meetings with residents of neighboring cities and other project stakeholders to inform attendees of the planned construction activities. Port staff are aware of noise-related concerns expressed by some neighbors due to the general construction and the anticipated relocation of aircraft activity at the airport during the project. Accordingly, the Port is arranging to provide neighbors of OAK with “escape” opportunities during the two‑week runway closure, including tickets to local movies theaters, museums, and possibly other venues.
If you are one of the neighbors impacted by the Runway 12-30 Rehabilitation Project and would like to utilize these “escape” opportunities, please contact the following offices for more information:
- Residents of the City of San Leandro, call:
- Sbeydeh Viveros-Walton, Communications & Community Relations at (510) 577-3372
- Residents of other cities neighboring Oakland International Airport, call:
