CROSS ALAMEDA TRAIL – JEAN SWEENEY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

City Project Number P.W. 05-16-11 Federal-Aid Project No. ATPL-5014(042)

 

Sealed Proposals will be received by the City of Alameda Department of Public Works, 950 West Mall Square, Alameda, California, until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017.  Proposals will be collected by City staff at 2:00 p.m. and will be opened and read publicly.

 

PER ADDENDUM NO. 2 THE BID OPENING DATE HAS CHANGED TO APRIL 20, 2017 AT 2:00 P.M.

 

Project Description:   In general, this project includes the construction of a Class 1 bike lane, walking path, and jogging trail between Webster Street and Sherman Street within City owned parcels along the south side of Atlantic Avenue. Gateway improvements will be added to the southeast corner of the Atlantic Avenue and Constitution Way.

 

Scope of work for this project includes but is not limited to asphalt concrete paving, traffic striping, concrete curb ramps, and Bay Trail signage, traffic signals, tree planting and landscaping, bike racks, lockers and bike repair stations. 

 

Scope of work (also) includes the early completion (i.e.; demolition, grading, construction, hazardous soils excavation and/or mitigation) of the eastern portion of the site noted as Phase A on the bid documents so as to leave this portion of the site finished, clean and clear for the Jean Sweeney Open Space Park (JSOSP) Phase A project construction. Construction of the JSOSP Phase A project will immediately follow that of the Cross Alameda Trail (CAT) Phase A project. The work for the early completion of this portion of the CAT project shall be completed within forty (40) working days.  It will be the duty of the prospective bidders to incorporate this into their bids and schedules and to coordinate such work - including but not limited to site access and staging - with the General Contractor who is awarded construction of the JSOSP Phase A project.

 

Work shall be done in accordance with official plans and specifications, which can be obtained from BPXpress Reprographics located at 4903 Central Avenue, Richmond, CA 94804 for a non-refundable cost of $100.00 per set. Shipping and handling are extra, depending on the delivery method. Electronic copies of the documents are also available for a non-refundable cost of $50 per set. .

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will occur on Thursday, March 30, 2017.

 

A non-mandatory (optional) Site Walk is offered on the same day at 9 a.m. at the project site, 1925 Sherman Street, Alameda, CA 94501.
